Acknowledgments

Aircrop is built on open-source software, and it ships some of it inside the app. Thank you to everyone who makes these projects. The full license texts are in two files that are also inside the app, in Aircrop.app/Contents/Resources: engine-licenses.txt for the engine and its model, and app-licenses.txt (Acknowledgements.txt in the app) for Sparkle.

Source for the LGPL libraries

No GPL code ships in Aircrop. libheif and libde265 are LGPL-3.0-or-later, unmodified builds of these upstream releases (pi-heif 1.4.0’s build script downloads exactly these two tarballs and applies no patch), and Aircrop loads them as separate dynamic libraries. The complete source is each tarball, linked here from the upstream projects. The same two tarballs, byte for byte, are also attached to every Aircrop release on GitHub, next to the disk image: open the release for your version (tag v<version>, for example v0.14.0) and look under Assets.

To run Aircrop with a modified or rebuilt copy of either library, replace its file inside a copy of the app and sign the app again; engine-licenses.txt has the steps (the build options are there too). An update installed by Aircrop’s updater replaces the whole app, and with it any swapped library.
